ICGEB Laboratory Animal Veterinarian as a consultant Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details 

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Veterinary Science with valid registration issued by the Veterinary Council of India.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in handling, breeding and maintenance of laboratory animals (mice, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, etc.), particularly inbred strains. Preference will be given to applicants having experience with transgenic/knockout animals.
• Desirable Experience: Research experience in studies involving laboratory animals.
• Desirable Experience: Experience in health monitoring and genetic monitoring techniques.
• Desirable Experience: Essential knowledge of CPCSEA guidelines and experience in conducting institutional animal ethics committee meetings, etc.

Salary/Stipend

• Salary will be up to Rs 60,000/- to Rs 75,000/- p.m. depending upon experience, qualification and competence.
• The consolidated emoluments are only indicative and shall be decided by the Selection Committee for the selected candidate based on his/her relevant experience and qualifications.

Important Dates

General Information/Instructions

• The engagement will be purely on a temporary basis and will be extended based on performance and requirements at the institute.
• The consultant will be required to be available at the facility on a daily basis during working hours (~ 20 hours/week) as per the requirement at that animal facilities, and as suggested by the concerned Scientist in charge of the animal facility.
• This is a consultancy assignment and should not, in any way, be construed as employment.
• Languages: English and Hindi.
• The successful candidate shall initially be offered a six-months Special Service Agreement (SSA), renewable based on satisfactory performance.
