Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification
• Project Associate-I: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology from a recognised University or equivalent
• Project Associate-II: M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology from a recognised University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/ Academic/ Research Institutions
• Senior Project Associate: Doctoral degree in Biological Sciences from a recognised University or equivalent OR M.Sc. in Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology and 3 years research experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science & Technology organisations and Scientific activities and services
• Desirable Qualification: Working experience in yeast biology/ engineering (for all positions)

Salary/ Stipend

• Project Associate-I:

  • Rs. 31,000/- + HRA (for candidates who qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET including lectureship/Assistant Professorship or GATE or National level examinations by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent)
  • Rs. 25,000/- + HRA (for others)

• Project Associate-II:

  • Rs. 35,000/- + HRA (for scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC including LS/Assistant Professorship or GATE or selection process through National level examinations by Central Government Departments)
  • Rs. 28,000/- + HRA (for others)

• Senior Project Associate: Rs. 42,000/- + HRA

Age Limit (as on 2 February 2026)

• Project Associate-I/II: Maximum 35 years
• Senior Project Associate: Maximum 40 years
• Upper age limit relaxable as per Government of India Rules

Selection Process

General Information/ Instructions

• Engagement is purely temporary, initially for one year, extendable or curtailable based on project requirement, performance, conduct, and fund availability.
• Tenure co-terminus with the project, not exceeding five years under any circumstances.
• Performance reviewed periodically; unsuitable candidates may be terminated.
• No right to claim permanent post in CSIR-CIMAP.
• Upper age limit relaxable as per Government of India Rules.
• To apply for another project after completion, fresh application required with resignation and No Dues Certificate from previous project.
• Leave as per rules.
• Experience counted from acquiring minimum educational qualification.
• Final semester/result awaited candidates not allowed for interview.

How to Apply

• Attend Walk-in-Interview on 2 February 2026 at CSIR-CIMAP Research Centre, Bengaluru.
• Report by 9 AM with signed Bio-Data (downloaded from website), all Original Documents, one set of Self-Attested Photocopies of educational testimonials, and one recent Passport size photograph.
• Candidates failing to produce required documents will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
