Location: The location of the above vacancies will be Delhi (NCR) & any of the 28 Institute/Centre of ICMR across the country, depending on the requirements of ICMR.
Eligibility Criteria
For Scientist-B (Non-Medical):
- Educational Qualification: Masters from a recognised university in the subject related to Biomedical Sciences
- Desirable: Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to the job requirement in a Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions
For Scientist-B (Non-Medical IT/Computer Science):
- Educational Qualification: ME/M. Tech (Computer Science) from a recognized University OR ME/M. Tech (Computer Science)/MCA or 4 years B.E. or B. Tech or B.Sc. (Engineering) (Computer Science/IT) with Ph.D. from a recognised University in a subject related to IT/Computer Science
- Desirable: Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to the job requirement in a Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions
- Job Requirement: Regulatory New Approach Methodologies (NAM) as alternative to animals in a Government/Public Section/Private Institutions
For Scientist-B (Non-Medical Pharmacology):
- Educational Qualification: Masters from a recognised university in Pharmacy (Pharmacology) OR Pharm-D degree recognized by UGC/PCI
- Desirable: Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to the job requirement in a Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions
- Job Requirement: Pre-clinical/experimental pharmacology
Salary/Stipend
- Pay Scale: Level-10 as per 7th CPC
- Salary Range: Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500 per month
- The posts carry the usual allowance as admissible to central government servants of similar status stationed at respective cities
Age Limit (as on 01/03/2026)
- Maximum Age: Not exceeding 35 years
- Age Relaxation for SC/ST: 5 years
- Age Relaxation for OBC: 3 years
- Age Relaxation for PwBD: 10 years (maximum age shall not exceed 56 years)

- Age Relaxation for Central Govt. Civilian Employees (SC/ST): 10 years (with not less than 3 years regular and continuous service)
- Crucial Date: The last date for Online submission of applications will be the crucial date to determine eligibility in terms of age
Application Fee
- The candidate can pay the prescribed application fee through DEBIT CARD/CREDIT CARD/NETBANKING
- Transaction/Processing fee, if any, as applicable, will be payable to the bank by the candidate
- Application fee, once remitted, shall not be refunded under any circumstances
- Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected
Important Dates
Selection Process
- Stage-I: Written/Computer Based Test (CBT) – 100 marks (Qualifying in nature)
- Stage-II: Interview (Final selection will be based on Interview performance only)
- The written/CBT examination will consist of 100 objective type questions
- Each question will have 4 options with one single correct option
- Each correct response will get 1 mark and 1/3 negative marking for wrong answers
- No marks will be awarded for unanswered questions or marked for review
- Questions will cover Research Methodology (Basics), Basic Biostatistics, Validity & reliability of diagnostic & screening tests, Bioethics, Communicable Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases, Reproductive & Child Nutrition, Logical reasoning, General Knowledge & English language aptitude
- Qualifying Criteria: Candidates obtaining 50% or more marks in CBT (45% for SC/ST/PwBD) will qualify for Interview
- The medium of examination will be English only
- Five times the number of posts advertised in various categories will be called for Interview based on Stage-I merit
- Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in Interview only
General Information/Instructions
- All candidates must apply online through www.aiimsexams.ac.in
- No documents are required to be sent in physical form
- Candidates working in Government/Semi or Quasi Government/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies must upload No Objection Certificate
- Original certificates/documents will be verified by ICMR at the time of document verification
- Category certificates (OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PwBD) must be valid as per prescribed format and validity period
- OBC certificate must be valid for financial year 2025-2026
- EWS certificate issued from 01.04.2025 to 01.03.2026 and valid for year 2025-2026 will be considered
- PwBD candidates must have benchmark disability of equal to or more than 40%
- Centre of Examination: Delhi/NCR only
- Admit card will be available for download 5 days before examination
- Candidates must bring admit card to examination centre and handover to invigilator
- Scribe and compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour is available for eligible PwBD candidates
- Canvassing in any form will be disqualification
- Any dispute will be subject to jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only
- Required educational qualification/experience should be completed on or before 01/03/2026
