AIIMS Patna JR Eligibility Criteria 2026
Educational Qualification (as on 20.02.2026)
- Candidates must have passed MBBS including completion of Internship from an MCI/NMC recognized institute.
- NMC/MCI/State Medical Registration must be produced before joining, if selected.
Age Limit (as on 20.02.2026)
- Upper age limit: 37 years.
Age relaxation:
- SC/ST: up to 5 years.
- OBC: up to 3 years.
- OPH (Orthopedic/Physical Handicapped): General – up to 5 years; OBC – up to 8 years; SC/ST – up to 10 years.

Reservation & PwBD Details
- Reservation for EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST as per Central Government rules.
- 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs).

AIIMS Patna JR Selection Process & Exam Pattern
- Selection through Written Test (MCQ-based) only.
- Total questions: 100 MCQs, 1 mark each, no negative marking.
- Exam duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Qualifying marks:
- UR: 50%
- OBC-NCL / EWS: 45%
- SC/ST: 40%
Final selection list will be prepared solely on written examination marks; in case of tie, older candidate (earlier date of birth) is ranked higher.
Tenure & Terms of Appointment
- Initial appointment: 06 months.
- May be extended once for another 06 months based on HOD recommendation and Executive Director approval.
- Maximum total tenure as Junior Resident (Non-Academic) at AIIMS Patna: 12 months; no further extension beyond this.
