Eligibility Criteria

Public Relations Officer (Level 10)

• Essential Qualifications: Master degree in Mass Communication and Journalism or equivalent degree with 60% marks and above or equivalent grade ‘B’ in UGC seven-point scale OR Master Degree in any discipline with 60% marks and above with Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communications
• Essential Experience: At least five years of experience in centre of any established English Newspaper, periodical, national news agency, radio or television or film media or equivalent experience as Public Relation Officer in recognized University
• Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer applications, ability to communicate in local languages, preference to those with at least 60% marks in all boards/University examination, two years experience in writing reports/news/press release in print or electronic media, experience in handling social media

Assistant Registrar (Level 10)

• Essential Qualifications: Master degree or equivalent in any discipline from recognized University with 60% marks and above or equivalent Grade B in UGC seven-point scale with consistently good academic record
• Essential Experience: At least 05 years relevant administrative experience in supervisory capacity in Govt. office/university/technological institution or organization of repute in Pay Matrix Level 7/Level 8 as per 7th CPC
• Desirable: Preference to those with at least 60% marks in all boards/University examination, degree in Law/Management/Engineering/Actuarial Science, Chartered or Cost Accountant qualification, SAS qualified, experience in handling computerized administration/financial matters, proficiency in use of latest office automation tools

Sports Officer (Level 10)

• Essential Qualifications: Master degree with 60% marks and above in Physical Education/Sports Science or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience in pay level 7/8 in any recognized Institutions and should have represented University/Institute at State/National level OR Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or equivalent with 60% marks and above with 7 years of relevant experience
• Essential: Should have specialization in at least one sport such as Hockey, Athletics, Swimming, Football, Basketball, Badminton, etc.
• Desirable: Preference to those with at least 60% marks in all boards/University examination

Fire and Safety Officer (Level 8)

• Essential Qualifications: Bachelor Degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from recognized University/Institute
• Essential Certification: A diploma/certification for at least one year duration in Fire and Safety Management/Fire Technology & Industrial Safety Management/Safety and Disasters management or equivalent
• Essential Experience: 05 years experience in capacity of Supervisor or equivalent safety professional in Fire Fighting in Civil/Defence Fire Service department/Public Undertaking/CFTIs or in reputed private organisation
• Essential: Must be able to handle fire arms with sound health and active habits
• Desirable: Post Graduate Degree/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety with 5 years relevant experience, valid driving license for LMVs

Senior Laboratory Officer (Level 8)

• Essential Qualifications: Master Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent in appropriate field with minimum 60% marks with 05 year relevant experience in Pay Matrix Level 6 OR Bachelor Degree (four years) in Engineering with minimum 60% marks with 07 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Three years) with minimum 60% marks with 08 years relevant experience OR Three years Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks with 08 year relevant experience
• Desirable: Proficiency in use of latest office automation tools and applications

Laboratory Officer (Level 6)

• Essential Qualifications: Master Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent in appropriate field with minimum 60% marks with 03 year relevant experience in Pay Matrix Level 4 OR Bachelor Degree (four years) in Engineering with minimum 60% marks with 05 year relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Three years) with minimum 60% marks with 06 year relevant experience OR Three years Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks with 06 year relevant experience

Junior Section Officer (Level 6)

• Essential Qualifications: Master Degree in any discipline from recognized university with 60% marks and above with 03 year experience in Administration/Accounts/Audit/Purchase etc. as Senior Assistant or equivalent in Pay Matrix Level 4 OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 60% marks and above with 05 years experience in Administration/Accounts/Audit/Purchase etc as Senior Assistant or equivalent
• Desirable: Preference to those with at least 60% marks in all boards/University examination, Higher Degree/PG Diploma in relevant discipline like HR, Labor Laws, Financial Management, inter ICWA/CA, proficiency in use of latest office automation tools

Assistant Sports Officer (Level 6)

• Essential Qualifications: Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or equivalent with 60% marks and above with 3 years of relevant experience in any recognized Institutions and should have represented University/Institute at State/National level
• Essential: Should have specialization in at least one sport such as Hockey, Athletics, Swimming, Football, Basketball, Badminton, etc.
• Desirable: Preference to those with at least 60% marks in all boards/University examination, N.I.S Coaching Diploma holders and medal winners in inter University/national games, representation at international level, certificate from national/international federation recognized by GoI, at least 02 years experience in coaching at University level

Laboratory Assistant (Level 5)

• Essential Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent in appropriate field with minimum 60% marks with 01 year relevant experience at Pay Matrix Level 2 OR Bachelor Degree (four years) in Engineering with minimum 60% marks with 02 year relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Three years) with minimum 60% marks with 03 year relevant experience OR Three years Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks with 03 year relevant experience

Senior Assistant (Level 5)

Salary/Stipend

• Group A Posts (Public Relations Officer, Assistant Registrar, Sports Officer): Level-10, Pay Matrix ₹56,100 – ₹177,500 per month
• Group B Posts (Fire and Safety Officer, Senior Laboratory Officer): Level-8, Pay Matrix ₹47,600 – ₹151,100 per month
• Group B Posts (Laboratory Officer, Junior Section Officer, Assistant Sports Officer): Level-6, Pay Matrix ₹35,400 – ₹112,400 per month
• Group C Posts (Laboratory Assistant, Senior Assistant): Level-5, Pay Matrix ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 per month
• Additional Benefits: Usual allowances at par with those admissible under IIT Jammu rules in corresponding Pay Scale as per 7th CPC

Selection Process

• Institute will conduct a multistage assessment process for advertised positions
• For Group A Posts: May include screening, written test, proficiency test, computer test, presentation and interviews as per requirement
• For Group B & C Posts: May include screening, written test, proficiency test and computer test as per requirement
• Each stage will be an elimination round, candidate must qualify each test to appear for next stage
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% individually in each stage, however final total qualifying marks shall be 60% of total marks
• Relaxation/Concession to SC/ST/OBC candidates may be given as per Government of India rules
• Institute reserves right to reduce or increase stages of recruitment
• All stages may be conducted on same day without any prior notice
• Final selection shall depend on merit over and above minimum level as determined by respective Selection Committee

General Information/Instructions

• Number of vacancies including those under reserved categories are provisional and may change depending on actual requirement
• Reservation policy as per Government of India norms is followed

• Institute reserves right to select any candidate on contractual basis initially for period of 02 years extendable on year-to-year basis maximum upto 05 years
• OBC (Non-creamy layer) certificate issued on or after 01/04/2025 shall only be considered
