Essential Qualifications (Any one)
- Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject at degree level, OR
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subjects or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as compulsory/elective subject at degree level, OR
- Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, OR
- Two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government offices including Government of India undertakings.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge at Matriculation level of one language other than Hindi listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
- Degree or Diploma in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa from a recognized University or equivalent Master’s degree.
Age Limit

Written Examination Structure
Paper-I: Objective Type (1 Hour)
Paper-II: Descriptive (2 Hours, 300 Marks)
- Paragraph writing in English and Hindi.
- Precis writing in English and Hindi.
- Translation from English to Hindi and from Hindi to English.
- Standard of questions: Graduation level; medium: English and Hindi.
- Paper-II will be evaluated only for candidates who secure minimum threshold marks in Paper-I as decided by CIMAP.
- Final merit list will be prepared based solely on marks obtained in Paper-II.

- Candidate with fewer negative marks in Paper-I will be placed higher.
- If still tied, older candidate (by date of birth) will rank higher.
