Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Botany from a recognized university with 3 years of R&D experience
• OR Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics/Biological Sciences from a recognized university with 2 years of R&D experience
• Maximum Age: 40 years (as on 28.01.2026)
• Age relaxation: 05 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 03 years for OBC candidates as per Government of India instructions

Salary / Stipend

• Rs. 42,000/- + 10% HRA (Consolidated) Per Month

Selection Process

• Walk-in Interview will be conducted on 28/01/2026 at 09:30 AM
• Selection Committee may adopt selection criterion at its own discretion – either by conducting direct interview or objective test (based on Multiple Choice Questions) followed by interview on the same day
• Number of selected candidates may vary from advertised positions depending upon candidate performance during the selection process
• Performance of Project Staff would be reviewed after every six-months period and any one not found up to mark may be terminated

General Information / Instructions

• Candidates reporting for interview after 10:00 AM will not be allowed to appear for interview
• Eligible candidates may appear for Walk-in-Interview on the date, time and place mentioned above along with an application on prescribed format (with latest colored passport size photo affixed) available on CSIR-IHBT website www.ihbt.res.in
• Candidates must bring self-attested photocopies of their testimonials of age, educational qualifications, experience etc. at the time of interview
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/PwBD/Women: 05 years and for OBC category: 03 years or as per Government of India instructions issued from time to time
• Engagement is on behalf of sponsoring agency and shall be temporary and co-terminus with project tenure or 06 years whichever is earlier
• Such engagement shall not provide any right/claim for regularization for permanent post of CSIR
• If candidate wants to apply for more than one position code they will have to submit separate application form for each position code
• Candidates must bring all original certificates of testimonials at the time of appearing for interview, failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview
• No Travelling Allowance will be paid for attending the interview
• Candidates must ensure they bring self-attested copies of essential certificates, otherwise applications will not be accepted
• Result awaited candidates are not eligible for interview
• Request for online interview will not be entertained at any circumstances
• The Director, CSIR-IHBT, Palampur’s decision shall be final on any matter relating to engagement for above mentioned positions
• Competent Authority reserves right to relax any provisions in this advertisement on reasonable ground
• In case of any dispute, the English version will prevail
