DMRC CMRL O&M 2026 Vacancy Details

The total number of vacancies for DMRC Executive/Non-Executive posts for O&M work of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), Phase-II, is 07 posts. Vacancies are provisional and are subject to increase/decrease. Category-wise reservation will be applicable as per Tamil Nadu Government norms. Candidates having proficiency in Tamil language will be preferred.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Joint General Manager (Operations) – Post Code 1/JGM/Ops (Deputation / PRCE basis): BE/B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Civil from a Govt. recognized University/Institute OR 2 years full time MBA with specialization in Marketing / International Business Operations / Logistics from a Govt. recognized University/Institute, with required work experience as per Para-2.
  • Engineer (Operations) – Post Code 1/Eng/Ops (FTCE basis): BE/B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Civil from a Govt. recognized University/Institute OR 2 years full time MBA in Marketing / International Business Operations / Logistics from a Govt. recognized University/Institute, with required work experience as per Para-2.
  • Engineer (Civil) – Post Code 2/Eng/C (FTCE basis): B.E./B.Tech (Civil) Engineering discipline from a Govt. recognized University/Institute with work experience as per Para-2.
  • Engineer (Safety) – Post Code 3/Eng/Sty (FTCE basis): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Civil / Mechanical discipline along with one year duration Degree/Diploma in Safety from a Govt. recognized University/Institute with work experience as per Para-2.
  • Assistant Manager (Security) – Post Code 4/AM/Sec (Deputation / PRCE basis): Graduate in any discipline from a Govt. recognized University with work experience as per Para-2.
  • Supervisor (Legal) – Post Code 5/Sup/Legal (Deputation / PRCE basis): LL.B from a Govt. recognized University/Institute or National Law School with work experience as per Para-2.
  • Engineer (Asset Management System) – Post Code 6/Eng/AMS (FTCE basis): BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics discipline from a Govt. recognized University with work experience as per Para-2.

Work Experience Criteria (as on 01.01.2026)

  • For PRCE / Deputation basis: Candidate should have varied experience in the relevant department and should be working in, or retired from, any Govt. organization like Indian Railways / PSUs / Metro Rail, be conversant with computerized environment, and free from D&AR and Vigilance angle.
  • For JGM: Minimum 14 years post qualification Gazetted / Executive experience.
  • For Assistant Manager / Engineer: Minimum 2 years post qualification Gazetted / Executive experience.
  • For Supervisor: Minimum 2 years post qualification Supervisory experience.
  • For FTCE Engineer level: Candidates presently working in relevant field with minimum total 2 years Executive professional experience in Indian Railways / Metro Rail; preference for candidates working in Chennai / Tamil Nadu region.

Age Limit

  • Post Retirement Contractual Engagement (PRCE) basis: Minimum 55 years and maximum 62 years as on 01.01.2026.
  • Deputation basis: Maximum 55 years as on 01.01.2026.
  • Fixed Term Contractual Engagement (FTCE) basis (Engineer posts): Maximum 40 years as on 01.01.2026. Age relaxation for various categories shall be applicable as per Government of Tamil Nadu rules.
  • Candidates in regular Govt. service in Railways/PSUs/Metro Rail can be considered for PRCE basis if they opt for retirement (VRS or otherwise) before joining DMRC.

Selection Process

  • For Deputation basis: Personal Interview / Screening.
  • For Post Retirement Contractual Engagement (PRCE) & Fixed Term Contractual Engagement (FTCE) basis: Personal Interview / Screening and Medical Fitness Examination.
  • The selection process will assess knowledge, skills, comprehension, aptitude and physical fitness; candidates must qualify the Interview/Screening and prescribed Medical examination to be found suitable.

  • Fill the application in CAPITAL LETTERS in own handwriting, providing all required personal, educational and work experience details.
  • Enclose self-attested copies of educational certificates (Graduation, Professional degree, Post-Graduation & others), work experience certificates, latest salary slip with appointment letter.
  • Government employees must enclose NOC from employer along with D&AR and Vigilance clearance and last 5 years APARs, as applicable.
  • Place the duly filled-in application in an envelope superscribing the Name of Post prominently on the cover.

Salary/Stipend

Post Retirement Contractual Engagement (PRCE) – Consolidated Salary

  • Candidates must have worked/retired from functional grade on regular basis; MACP benefits will not be considered.
  • Remuneration is governed by DMRC PRCE Rules and is based on last substantive grade, subject to maximum limits.
  • Consolidated fee for higher grade retirees will be restricted to above remuneration.

Deputation Basis

  • Selected candidates on Deputation will continue to draw parent department pay.
  • They will receive an incentive @ 25% of Basic Pay (this includes deputation allowance); no separate deputation allowance is payable.

Fixed Term Contractual Engagement (FTCE) – Engineer Posts

  • Remuneration includes all benefits such as accommodation, transport, medical, LTA, canteen etc.; no other financial benefits/allowances are admissible.
  • Candidates must have annual CTC of Rs. 6,00,000 for FTCE Engineer eligibility.
  • Minimum PF @12% on Rs. 15,000 (i.e. Rs. 1,800 per month, proportionate) will be deducted; DMRC contributes an equivalent amount.
  • Gratuity is payable as per Gratuity Act, taking 65% of consolidated remuneration as basic pay and DA treated as NIL.

Instructions

Service Conditions (FTCE)

  • TA/DA admissible for outstation duty as per entitlement for corresponding level.
  • Entitled to 8 days Casual Leave (CL) on pro-rata basis and 18 days Earned Leave (EL) per year (1.5 EL for each completed month).
  • Engagement automatically terminates on expiry of term; may be terminated earlier by either side with one month notice or salary in lieu.
  • No claim for continued engagement or regular employment in DMRC under any circumstances.
  • If any information furnished by candidate is found false/incorrect, FTCE engagement will be void ab initio and terminated forthwith.
  • Annual increment of 3% on Basic Pay is applicable; remuneration will be reduced proportionately in case of absence from work.

Pre-Engagement Medical Examination

  • All candidates must undergo prescribed medical fitness tests and meet DMRC medical standards for the respective posts.
  • Details of medical standards are available on DMRC website.
  • First-time medical examination cost is borne by DMRC; re-medical examination cost, if sought by candidate, is borne by candidate.

Character and Antecedents

  • Engagement is subject to satisfactory verification of character and antecedents.
  • DMRC must be satisfied that candidate is suitable in all respects for contractual engagement.

Training Cost

  • Selected candidates must serve DMRC for minimum 3 years (excluding Leave Without Pay period).
  • One month prior notice is required before resignation.
  • If candidate leaves within 3 years, position-wise training cost will be recovered on pro-rata basis (3 years minus period actually served after training).

Job Location / Place of Posting

  • Initial posting will be at Chennai for DMRC O&M work of CMRL Phase-II.
  • Selected candidates are liable to be posted/transferred to any office/project site of DMRC in India or abroad.
