Eligibility Criteria

• Essential qualifications: First Mate (FG)/Dredge Master Gr-II or Second Mate (FG)/Dredge Mate Gr-I or B.Sc. Nautical Science.

Salary/Stipend

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

• Maximum Age: Not exceeding 25 years for B.Sc. Nautical Science, 30 years for Second Mate (FG)/Dredge Mate Gr.I, 35 years for First Mate (FG)/Dredge Master Gr-II

General Information/Instructions

• In addition to the pay drawn, they shall also be entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Cafeteria Allowance, etc. as may be admissible from time to time.
• The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 (five) years for SC & ST candidates and by 03 (three) years for OBC candidates. The post is not suitable for PWD category.
• The selected candidates will be required to execute a BOND prior to joining that they would serve SMP, Kolkata for a period of at least 05 (five) years after qualifying as a Pilot, failing which, they will have to pay SMP, Kolkata an amount equivalent to last 06 (six) months’ salary together with the cost of training, as may be determined by the Appointing Authority.
• Incomplete application, unsigned application or application received after the last date will not be considered.

• Application in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-I) furnishing detailed Bio-data including Name, Date of Birth, Permanent Address, Mobile and Residential Telephone numbers, Address of communication, Nationality, whether SC/ST/OBC/EWS (along with relevant verified certificates), Educational and Professional qualification, Experience and any other relevant information with two recent Passport size Photographs duly singed thereon, should be submitted in sealed envelope superscribing ‘Application for the post of Sr. Hydrographer at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (erstwhile Kolkata Port Trust)’ to the Director, Marine Department, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata at 15 Strand Road, Kolkata 700001. Self-attested photocopies of caste, educational and professional qualification certificates, age proof certificate, CDC should be enclosed.
